Boone Area Transit System (BATS) provides demand-response (reservation-based) transportation to any resident of Boone County. BATS is a service of Boone County Senior Services. We offer accessible transportation as well. Please notify us if you use a wheelchair, motorized cart, walker, portable oxygen, service animal or if you have vision or hearing difficulties.
Fares
You must have exact change or a prepaid ticket. Fare tickets are available for purchase from your driver or by contacting the office. All parking fees are the passenger’s responsibility.

- Over 60: Donations are accepted for service. There is a suggested donation schedule.
- Medicaid: Must contact Verida at 1-855-325-7586.
- General public: $4 per stop in your town or city. $6 per stop outside your town or city.
How to get a ride
BATS is a demand-response system, which means advance reservations are required. Our transportation is a curb-to-curb system offered to individuals in our service area. Our system is on a first come first serve basis and is limited to available capacity. Therefore, it is important to call and schedule a ride as soon as possible.
