The North Plainfield Connector, a service of CIRTA, provides an option for traveling between Indianapolis and Plainfield. The route allows passengers to transfer between IndyGo and the North Plainfield Connector at the IndyGo Route 8 – Washington Street stop near the intersection of W. Washington St. and Bridgeport Rd. The Connector travels to Adesa and the Allpoints Midwest industrial park, making multiple stops (see map below).
To use the North Plainfield Connector, take IndyGo’s Route 8 west to Bridgeport Road, where the bus turns off of W. Washington Street. The North Plainfield Connector sign is at the IndyGo stop and is where the bus will pick up and drop off.
The Connector operates Monday through Friday, starting at 5:15 a.m. (see below), breaking at 9:30 a.m. until service resumes at 12:30 p.m., and continues to 6:30 p.m.
In order to accommodate early morning shifts, the first run of the North Plainfield Connector starts at 5:15 am in downtown Indianapolis near Delaware and Washington, across the street from the Indianapolis Downtown Transit Center. The Connector then travels directly to Plainfield, circulates through the regular stops, and starts its regular service between Plainfield and Bridgeport Road for the remainder of the day.
The fare is $1 exact change per one-way trip. No pennies are accepted. A 10-trip pass is available for purchase on the bus with cash ($10). Agencies and employers may contact CIRTA for information about purchasing multiple passes. All sales are final and are non-refundable.
*After departing from Delaware and Washington, bus travels to all Plainfield stops shown on route map
The North Plainfield Connector is funded by a federal Congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ) grant, with support from the Town of Plainfield.
